General guidelines for better policy servicing

In today’s article let us discuss ways to follow for a better policy maintenance.

  • A policy bond is a contractual document between LIC & Policy holder. The policy schedule contains specific information about your LIC policy. There is a 9 digit number called Policy Number. This is a unique number that identifies your policy. In all communications related to servicing of the policy please quote this Policy Number.
  • Please read and check the policy document very carefully and if there is any correction required kindly contact your servicing branch office immediately.
  • The policy bond is the most important document during the term of the policy. This is a document which will be called for in connection with various servicing events including the settlement of the claims. Kindly keep the policy bond in a safe place and inform your near & dear ones about the same. Policy bond is mandatory for settlement of claim under a policy. Therefore ensure safety and availability of the policy bond to ensure timely claim settlement.
  • For receiving policy related information and for a smooth claim settlement, do Register your Mobile number at any Branch for all your Policies.
  • Submit NEFT details at any LIC Branch.
  • Register all your policies on LIC Customer Portal to avail Online Services. Customer Portal tab is placed on the homepage of LIC’s website. You can enroll all the policies on your life under Customer Portal to avail Basic and Premier Services. The Basic services include Online Premium payment, View/Print Online Premium Paid Receipts, Premium paid certificate, Policy Loan and Claim Status, Bonus information, Revival Quotation, Premium Calendar, etc.
  • You can also opt for Premier Services which include View Policy Document and Proposal Form images, Claim History & Online Loan Request generation.
  • Customers can also avail help through their mobile phones. Please type LICHELP < Policy Number > and send it as SMS to 92224 92224. LIC’s Customer Zone Executive will call you back resolve queries.
  • LIC also has a 24×7 Call Center number , reachable by calling 022-68276827
  • Keep your address, mobile number and e-mail id updated under policy records to receive timely intimations regarding premium payments. Please note that Premium Intimation or Notice is just a reminder. Primarily, it is your responsibility to pay premium in stipulated time.
